Basketball Game Preview: Islands Sharks vs. Groves Rebels

The Islands Sharks will take on the Groves Rebels in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Islands was beaten by Long County 82-29. The matchup marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Groves was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Jenkins.

Islands has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Groves, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Islands beat Groves 54-46 in their previous matchup back in February of 2020. Does Islands have another victory up their sleeve, or will Groves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
