Softball Recap: Camden Blue Devils vs. Rome Free Academy Black Knights
Camden stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against the Rome Free Academy Black Knights as the Camden Blue Devils made off with a 17-2 victory. The win was just business as usual For Camden, who after five games remain undefeated this season.
Layla Killino made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Killino has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Killino was also big at the plate, going 4-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and two runs.
In other batting news, Camden got a massive performance out of Brooke Musch, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. Musch is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kendall Musch was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, a triple, and a run.
Camden pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rome Free Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2.
