Volleyball Recap: Colusa Starts Season with Win Against Clear Lake

Colusa took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Clear Lake Cardinals with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the RedHawks also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Colusa never let Clear Lake on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-23.

Marlie Berry was the offensive standout of the contest as she had six digs and three aces.

Berry wasn't the only good server: Colusa was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 15 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Coming up, Colusa will be taking part in a tournament against West Valley at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Clear Lake, they will take on Upper Lake in a tournament on Friday.
