Baseball Game Preview: Trinity-Pawling School Pride vs. Westminster School Martlets

The Trinity-Pawling School Pride will head out on the road to face off against the Westminster School Martlets at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity-Pawling School is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Trinity-Pawling School didn't have quite enough to beat Avon Old Farms and fell 2-1.

Alexander Jendras made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Jayvian Vazquez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westminster School). They blew past Hotchkiss School 16-7 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Martlets brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Westminster School let Matthew Shea and George Willis run wild. Shea went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Willis went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Westminster School is 2-1 when Willis posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. Jake Pleau was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Trinity-Pawling School's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Westminster School, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.

Trinity-Pawling School skirted past Westminster School 8-7 when the teams last played last Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pride since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
