Softball Recap: Indianola Comes Up Short

Indianola suffered their closest defeat since June 27, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Kennedy Cougars by a score of 3-1. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Indianola and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.

Coming up, Indianola will venture away from home to square off against Oskaloosa at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Oskaloosa has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.35 runs per game on average), something Indianola will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kennedy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Central Springs on the 14th.
