Basketball Recap: Rifle Comes Up Short

Rifle lost against Coal Ridge back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears took a blow against the Titans, falling 82-48. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Rifle still got an impressive performance from Eliezer Vega, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bransen Zulian, who had four points.

Coal Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Diego Gamez led the charge by shooting 42% from the field en route to 11 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. That's the most boards Gamez has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Gio Parker, who earned 12 points and four steals.

Rifle now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Coal Ridge, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Rifle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-36 victory against Middle Park on the 6th. As for Coal Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 46-24 win against DSST: Montview on the 6th.
