Baseball Recap: South Gibson Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

South Gibson dropped their record down to 22-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Chester County Eagles by a score of 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by just one run.

As for Chester County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.

For Chester County's part, Tage Hill looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Hill posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Chester County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Estes, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

While South Gibson had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
