Soccer Recap: Seven Straight Road Wins for Hoover

Hoover proved they can win big last Monday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Vestavia Hills Rebels 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Henry Patterson and Patrick Anderson scored both of Hoover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Hoover pushed their record up to 16-1-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven matchups. As for Vestavia Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10-1 record this season.

Hoover will face off against Gardendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vestavia Hills, they will square off against Fort Payne at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
