Baseball Recap: University Comes Up Short

University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the John Marshall Monarchs. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Monarchs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

University saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colson Jenkins, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

University's record is now 4-7. As for John Marshall, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Coming up, John Marshall will venture away from home to take on Parkersburg South at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. University will be paying especially close attention to the Monarchs' contest: after the Monarchs faces off against the Patriots, they'll take on University again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
