The Warrenton Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Montgomery County Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Things were looking good for Warrenton after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 9-6 to Winfield. Warrenton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery County). They blew past Palmyra 16-5 on Saturday. Considering the Wildcats have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Reese Hill was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Hill was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.

In other batting news, Montgomery County got a massive performance out of Aliviah Fischer, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jillian Weekley, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Montgomery County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 0 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 9.2.

Warrenton's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Montgomery County, their record is now 10-6.

Warrenton took their win against Montgomery County in their previous meeting back in September of 2023 by a conclusive 11-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warrenton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
