Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mt. Shasta

Mt. Shasta had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Fall River Bulldogs 13-1. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

BEN KENNEDY was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Mt. Shasta is undefeated when KENNEDY posts two or more runs, but 8-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Mt. Shasta got a big performance out of Leo Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Martinez has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Hank Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Mt. Shasta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Mt. Shasta's record now sits at 15-10. As for Fall River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.

Mt. Shasta has already played their next contest (against Willows), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fall River, they will take on Weed at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
