Basketball Recap: Hampton Takes a Loss

Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. 2026 welcomed they with a 59-34 loss courtesy of the Poyen Indians. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hampton's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-6. As for Poyen, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hampton will challenge rival Magnet Cove at 4:30 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Poyen is set to face off against their familiar foe Fordyce at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
