Basketball Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Garfield Heights Bulldogs

The Avon Lake Shoremen will head out on the road to face off against the Garfield Heights Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Avon Lake is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Mayfield 87-73 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Garfield Heights had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They breezed past the Dragons to the tune of 107-38. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Garfield Heights pushed their record up to 18-2 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points over those games. As for Avon Lake, their win bumped their record up to 4-19.
