Soccer Game Preview: Grayson County vs. Eastern Montgomery

The Grayson County Blue Devils will challenge the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Grayson County and Fort Chiswell, and Fort Chiswell kept the tradition alive. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Eastern Montgomery came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Green Waves a 3-0 shutout. Considering Eastern Montgomery have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Prince Robinson was the driving force of Eastern Montgomery's attack as he scored all three of Eastern Montgomery's goals, bringing his season total up to nine goals.

Eastern Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Grayson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1.

Grayson County suffered a grim 6-3 defeat to Eastern Montgomery in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 5-1.
