After a string of seven wins, Trinity Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 78-67 to the Piedmont Academy Cougars. If the Crusaders were looking for revenge after losing 46-40 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Marissa Holder, who shot 7-for-13 from downtown and almost dropped a triple-double on 36 points, 13 boards, and nine steals for Piedmont Academy. Holder is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kylee Keck, who went 9 of 19 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Piedmont Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

After both having extra time off, Trinity Christian and John Milledge Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Piedmont Academy and Robert Toombs Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Piedmont Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
