Recap: Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks vs. Bell Creek Academy Panthers
It was a good run, but the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to Bell Creek Academy at home by a decisive 44-28 margin. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool lost against Bell Creek Academy in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 33-20 score last time.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Makayla Calzada, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals. The matchup was Calzada's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Julianna Lamon, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bell Creek Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendal Curtis, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Curtis has scored at least 25% of Bell Creek Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christyana Allen, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Bell Creek Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Foundation Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on November 28th. As for Bell Creek Academy, they will be playing at home against Santa Fe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Santa Fe Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
