Baseball Game Preview: Snook Christian Academy Eagles vs. Monroe Academy Volunteers

The Snook Christian Academy Eagles will challenge the Monroe Academy Volunteers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Snook Christian Academy barely beat West Florida Baptist Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Snook Christian Academy put the hurt on West Florida Baptist Academy with a sharp 12-3 win on Monday. The Eagles not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024.

Ethan Bettner and Jayden Ables were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Bettner struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Ables pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Bettner has allowed since back in February of 2024. At the plate, Bettner scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Ables scored a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Landon Rubel was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monroe Academy). They walked away with a 16-11 victory over Sparta Academy last Tuesday. The Volunteers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The victory got Monroe Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Snook Christian Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
