Basketball Recap: Johnny Payne Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dighton-Rehoboth Regional

Seekonk lost to Dighton-Rehoboth Regional back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Seekonk Warriors strolled past the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 62-46.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Seekonk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Johnny Payne, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Payne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Travis Pereira, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Seekonk's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Dighton-Rehoboth Regional, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

When Seekonk and Dighton-Rehoboth Regional next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Seekonk will square off against Bourne and their four-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Seekonk is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Dighton-Rehoboth Regional will try to stop Somerset Berkley Regional's ten-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
