Basketball Game Preview: Sacred Heart Eagles vs. Roseau Rams

The Sacred Heart Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Roseau Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Sacred Heart knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Roseau likes a good challenge.

Sacred Heart will head into Tuesday's game having proved themselves against Thief River Falls: Sacred Heart took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Thief River Falls, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Sacred Heart had just enough and edged Thief River Falls out 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since January 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-38, which was the final score in Roseau's tilt against Northern Freeze co-op [Marshall County Central/Tri-County] on Tuesday. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Sacred Heart has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Roseau, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
