Basketball Game Preview: North Clay/Clay City vs. Altamont Indians

North Clay/Clay City hasn't had much luck against Altamont recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. North Clay/Clay City will take on the Altamont Indians at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with North Clay/Clay City sitting on nine straight victories and Altamont on three.

North Clay/Clay City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 77-34 win over Mulberry Grove. North Clay/Clay City has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Altamont against Patoka on Monday as the squad secured a 66-32 victory. While fans of the Indians might be used to big wins, the 34-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

North Clay/Clay City better focus on containing Cooper Mcmanaway and Benjamin Roedl as the pair were huge in Altamont's win. Mcmanaway en route to 23 points, while Roedl to rack up 12 points and three blocks. What's more, Mcmanaway also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Zaine Miller was another key player, putting up nine points.

Altamont was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

North Clay/Clay City's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.0 points over those games. As for Altamont, their victory bumped their record up to 19-12.

North Clay/Clay City came up short against Altamont in their previous meeting on February 1st, falling 69-60. Can North Clay/Clay City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
