Recap: Eau Claire Shamrocks vs. Keenan Raiders
The Eau Claire Shamrocks's five-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They snuck past Keenan with a 59-55 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Eau Claire's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Keenan is ranked 72nd).
Eau Claire got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aden Price out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Asa Price, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Keenan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cedric Schofield. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schofield has scored all season. Brian Sumpter was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Eau Claire's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Keenan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-13.
Eau Claire will head out on the road to face off against Keenan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Keenan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
