Volleyball Recap: Portage Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Portage can now relate to. They came up short against the Boone Grove Wolves on Saturday, falling 3-0.

Kimari Beasley paced Portage's offense, picking up five kills. Beasley got some help from Walter Shumpert and his ten assists.

Leading Boone Grove to victory were Ryder McCoy and Levi McCoy. Ryder had 19 digs, while Levi had eight digs. Ryder is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 17 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Portage has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for Boone Grove, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.

Portage does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boone Grove, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Andrean on the 17th.
