Football Game Preview: Seaforth Hawks vs. South Brunswick Cougars + Official Tickets

The Seaforth Hawks will head out on the road to take on the South Brunswick Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Seaforth took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Carrboro a 57-0 shutout. Considering the Hawks have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Duncan Parker, who threw for 221 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 90 yards and a pair of TDs. His passing game has become a key predictor of Seaforth's success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise.

Meanwhile, South Brunswick won against Fairmont two weeks ago with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Cougars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Bladen 35-7. The Cougars' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

South Brunswick's win came from a few key players Seaforth will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amerius Revels, who rushed for 102 yards and three scores. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. South Brunswick also got help from Edward Young, who showed off his sure hands for 107 receiving yards.

South Brunswick pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.8 points over those games. As for Seaforth, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
