Soccer Game Preview: Dos Palos vs. Mendota

Dos Palos hasn't had much luck against Mendota recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Dos Palos Broncos are taking a road trip to take on the Mendota Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. Dos Palos will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Dos Palos had just enough and edged Avenal out 2-1. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gerardo Andrade and Arturo Mendoza scored both of Dos Palos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Meanwhile, Mendota waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Mendota who was credited with the win.

Dos Palos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Mendota, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3-2.

Dos Palos beat Mendota by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 3-2. Does Dos Palos have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mendota turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
