It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bigelow ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Quitman Bulldogs 3-2. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 5-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Briley Starks spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bigelow's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addyson Jordan, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Bigelow now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Quitman, they moved to 12-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Bigelow will host Morrilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Quitman, they will head out to challenge Cabot at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
