Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Takes a Loss

Mansfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Chadwick Cardinals, falling 3-0. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mansfield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20, 25-14.

Kayley Kingery paced Mansfield's offense, picking up four kills. Kingery got some help from Patience Parsons and her 12 assists. Giulia Leoni controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mansfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Chadwick, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Mansfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Niangua on the 19th. As for Chadwick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Galena on the 19th.
