Basketball Recap: New Prairie Comes Up Short

New Prairie lost against Mishawaka back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Prairie Cougars lost to the Mishawaka Cavemen at home by a 53-37 margin.

Despite the loss, New Prairie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brody Wiginton went 6 for 9 on his way to 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wiginton has scored all season.

New Prairie dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mishawaka, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

New Prairie will take on Lewis Cass in a tournament on Friday. Lewis Cass has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests. Mishawaka and Fort Wayne North Side will round out the year against one another at at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
