Basketball Recap: East Coweta Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

There's no place like home for East Coweta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 75-66 win over the Westlake Lions on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Lions last Saturday, they had to take a 82-62 loss.

East Coweta had a senior duo take command as Qwes Williams went 12 of 17 on his way to 30 points and Marcus Towns dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Harper Rife was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

East Coweta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

East Coweta has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Westlake, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 17-7 record.

East Coweta will be playing in front of their home fans against Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. East Coweta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.2 points per game this season. Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
