Game recap: New Smyrna Beach High School Football Team defeats Spruce Creek

PORT ORANGE, Fla. - New Smyrna Beach (Fla.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Spruce Creek (Port Orange, Fla.), 41-14, on Saturday.

The Barracudas were up 28-14 at the half after taking the lead on a Dexter Dixon touchdown pass to D'cota Dixon in the first quarter.

New Smyrna Beach expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. NSB scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.

With the win the Barracudas extended their winning streak to nine games. New Smyrna Beach defeated the Wolves 56-0 last week.

Marcus Johnson played well for NSB in the victory. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown.



The Barracudas went into the matchup giving up only 12.0 points per game.

The victory will ease some of the sting of New Smyrna Beach's close 23-20 loss to the Hawks last season.
