Basketball Recap: Notre Dame Comes Up Short

Notre Dame was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 62-52 to the San Gorgonio Spartans. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Notre Dame lost, don't look at Caiden Broughton. Despite the final result, he posted 41 points and five boards. Broughton's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Lewis, who earned two points and ten rebounds.

Notre Dame's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for San Gorgonio, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will welcome Bloomington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Notre Dame is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season. As for San Gorgonio, they will host Arroyo Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
