Basketball Game Preview: Peoria Lions vs. Richwoods Knights

The Peoria Lions will venture away from home to take on the Richwoods Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Peoria will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Peoria beat Springfield 50-44. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Senators are ranked 239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Richwoods suffered their closest loss since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of Lanphier by a score of 61-58. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Peoria's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Richwoods, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Peoria came up short against Richwoods in their previous matchup back in January, falling 76-65. Can Peoria avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
