Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Sunnyside Wildcats

The Roosevelt Rough Riders will head out to challenge the Sunnyside Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Roosevelt made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hoover, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rough Riders fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rough Riders have suffered since April 5, 2024.

Roosevelt saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leonardo Gonzales-Sanchez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Sunnyside got themselves on the board against Torres on Friday, but Torres never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Toros. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Sunnyside's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9-1.

Roosevelt skirted past Sunnyside 3-2 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rough Riders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
