Basketball Game Preview: Mascoutah Indians vs. Highland Bulldogs

The Mascoutah Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Highland Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Mascoutah is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Centralia just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 59-48 to the Orphans. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Orphans are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, Highland didn't have too much trouble with Granite City on Tuesday as they won 60-41. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Highland now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Mascoutah, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Mascoutah came up short against Highland in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 65-60. Can Mascoutah avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
