Baseball Recap: Western Brown Wins Going Away Against Wilmington

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mariemont, Western Brown was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Wilmington Hurricane. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on April 7th.

Braylen Fletcher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. He has become a key player for Western Brown: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Saylor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. Montana Wells was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win got Western Brown back to even at 5-5. As for Wilmington, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Brown will square off against Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wilmington, they will challenge New Richmond at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
