Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Isabella Morales and Teresa Londrie Lead Mayer to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mogollon, Mayer was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Sentinels 45-19.

Mayer was led to victory by Teresa Londrie and Isabella Morales. Londrie dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals, while Morales posted ten points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Londrie a new career-high in points.

Mayer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind only pulled down four offensive boards.

Several Sentinels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Melany Marquez, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 10 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Emily Marquez, who put up seven points and five steals.

Mayer's record is now 7-9. As for Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Mayer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 83-9 defeat against Joseph City on the 14th. Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind has also already played their next matchup, a 50-18 loss against San Simon on the 14th.
