Softball Recap: Desert Edge Scorpions vs. Verrado Vipers

Desert Edge lost against Verrado last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Desert Edge Scorpions took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Verrado Vipers. Desert Edge has not had much luck with Verrado recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Desert Edge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiley Hernandez (2024), who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

On Verrado's side, Dakota Chazaro was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Marchese, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Desert Edge's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Verrado, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Desert Edge will be playing at home against Westview at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Verrado, they will head out on the road to challenge Millennium at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Verrado's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Millennium's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
