Basketball Recap: Tomas Comes Up Short

The Tomas Gators came up short against the Cy-Fair Bobcats on Tuesday and fell 43-32. The matchup marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Tomas saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amazing Omolola almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Omolola is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Odion Otoijaghale was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Tomas and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Cy-Fair, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Tomas will face off against Clear Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cy-Fair, they will challenge Brook Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' defense better be ready for this one: the Guard have averaged an impressive 54.8 points per game this season.
