Basketball Recap: Lathan Fry and Jasen Hughes Secure Win for Granite Hills

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bonita Vista, Granite Hills was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Foothills Christian Knights, sneaking past 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since January 15, 2024.

Leading Granite Hills to victory were Jasen Hughes and Lathan Fry. Hughes went 8 for 15 en route to 25 points and five boards, while Fry dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 rebounds. Fry has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 22 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andre Dankha, who posted seven points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Foothills Christian still got an impressive performance from Patrick Delahoussaye, who earned 25 points. Joey Turk was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Granite Hills' win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Foothills Christian, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-9.

Granite Hills has already played their next match, a 71-51 victory against West Hills on the 14th. As for Foothills Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-31 win against Orange Glen on the 14th.
