Football Game Preview: El Diamante Miners vs. Porterville Panthers + Official Tickets

El Diamante is 0-3 against Porterville since October of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Miners will challenge the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. El Diamante has given up an average of 52 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

El Diamante managed to slip by Mt. Whitney the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Miners came up short against the Pioneers on Friday, falling 43-20. The Miners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Despite their loss, El Diamante saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nolan (Gauge) Rivas, who threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground, was perhaps the best of all. 89 of Rivas' passing yards were hauled in by Edward Perez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Porterville). They came out on top against Golden West by a score of 49-39 on Friday.

Porterville's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for El Diamante, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

El Diamante took a serious blow against Porterville when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 43-14. Can the Miners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
