Mt. Vernon had won four straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 9-5 to make it five. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Muncie Central Bearcats. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Ryker Baer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brooks McKeeman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and three runs.

As for Muncie Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15. They have struggled against Mt. Vernon recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

On Muncie Central's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rodney Dabney, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Gage Emberton was another, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mt. Vernon beat Muncie Central by a score of 18-1 later that day.
