Baseball Recap: Seffner Christian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Seffner Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Master's Academy Patriots.

Seffner Christian let Mason McBane and Brayden Nanns run wild. McBane scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Nanns scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Nanns is becoming a predictor of Seffner Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Kris Colondres was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Seffner Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Master's Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season.

Seffner Christian will be playing at home against Bradenton Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Master's Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Oxbridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
