It was a Battle of the Birds when Staunton River took on Franklin County on Wednesday. The contest between Staunton River and Franklin County didn't end well, with Staunton River falling 45-30. The Golden Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, William Byrd beat Franklin County 52-41 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Terriers.

Staunton River now has a losing record at 6-7. As for William Byrd, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Staunton River came up short against William Byrd in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 75-66. Can Staunton River avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
