Volleyball Recap: Blue Earth Comes Up Short

Blue Earth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. James Saints. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 23-25, 25-22.

Hailey Hanson paced Blue Earth's offense, picking up eight kills. Hanson got some help from Taylor Ripley and her 17 assists. Finally, Caitlin Eitzmann kept Blue Earth's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Blue Earth's loss dropped their record down to 2-21-2. As for St. James, their win bumped their record up to 4-14.

Coming up, Blue Earth will challenge Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight. St. James has already played their next matchup (against Minnesota Valley Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
