Basketball Recap: Royse City Takes a Loss

Royse City came up into this matchup off a tough 20-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Forney Jackrabbits by a score of 37-35 on Friday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jackrabbits earlier this season, when they won 44-22.

Royse City has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season. As for Forney, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 11-13.

Royse City and Forney could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Royse City will challenge Tyler Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 369 places (430 vs. 61). Meanwhile, Forney (ranked 437th) will meet Longview (ranked 110th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
