Baseball Recap: Edison Triumphs

Edison got themselves on the board against Claymont on Friday, but Claymont never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Mustangs. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The victory made it two in a row for Edison and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Claymont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will welcome Martins Ferry at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 0.7, the Purple Riders 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Claymont, they will be playing at home against John Glenn at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs are facing the Little Muskies at the right time seeing as the Little Muskies are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
