Baseball Recap: Rickards Comes Up Short

Rickards lost against Madison County back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raiders came up short against the Cowboys, falling 14-4. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly ten runs.

Jayden Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Rickards' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 4-15 when he doesn't).

This is the second loss in a row for Rickards and nudges their season record down to 6-16. As for Madison County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.

Rickards will face off against Wakulla at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the War Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. Madison County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
