Preview: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Shattuck Indians
The Carnegie Wildcats will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Shattuck Indians at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Carnegie suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Binger-Oney, falling 67-40. Carnegie has struggled against Binger-Oney recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Karlee Tahkofper put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wenzday Burcum, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Shattuck was the victim of a rough 58-36 defeat at the hands of Balko on Saturday. Shattuck has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Carnegie has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Shattuck, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
