Basketball Game Preview: Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs vs. Friendly Patriots

Two dominant guards in Alyssa Fitzgerald and Jasmine Germany are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Georgetown Visitation Prep Cubs will be taking part in a tournament against the Friendly Patriots at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Georgetown Visitation Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.

Friendly is hoping to do what Connelly School of the Holy Child couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Georgetown Visitation Prep's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Georgetown Visitation Prep blew past Connelly School of the Holy Child 54-19. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Georgetown Visitation Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fitzgerald, who posted 12 points. Fitzgerald is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Jocelyn Gill was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Georgetown Visitation Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

While Friendly didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They managed a 27-22 win over Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Friendly's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Georgetown Visitation Prep, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
