Football Recap: Mansfield Takes a Loss

Mansfield lost against Northwood back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolverines took a blow against the Falcons, falling 62-26. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Falcons are ranked 43rd).

Despite the loss, Mansfield still got an impressive performance from Terrell Pegues, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs. Jaydan Hamilton got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

John Sneed went supernova For Northwood., rushing for 92 yards and two scores on only ten carries. Those 92 rushing yards gave Sneed a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mansfield fell to 2-1. As for Northwood, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Mansfield has already played their next game, a 44-22 loss against Lake Charles College Prep on the 26th. As for Northwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 52-26 defeat against North DeSoto on the 26th.
