Basketball Game Preview: High Tech SD Storm vs. Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots

The High Tech SD Storm will square off against the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. High Tech SD is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.4 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, High Tech SD came up short against La Jolla and fell 71-61. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

High Tech SD might have lost, but man, Poema Strong was a machine: she posted 36 points and five boards. The contest was Strong's ninth in a row with at least 17 points. Aomi Nebel was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, High Tech SD smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Academy of Our Lady of Peace posted their closest win since February 9, 2024 on Monday. They skirted past Sage Creek 43-40.

High Tech SD's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, their victory bumped their record up to 4-22.

High Tech SD was able to grind out a solid win over Academy of Our Lady of Peace when the teams last played back in January, winning 61-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Tech SD since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
